OṂ is considered the original mantra (mūlamantra), the primordial seed (ādibīja), the mantra which more than any other symbolizes or embodies the supreme transcendental reality. Ancient texts including the Upaniṣads, Yogasūtras, and Tantras have explored the deep meaning and symbolism of OṂ and on that basis have expounded techniques to reveal the subtle aspects of our being. This course consists of four parts, the fourth of which investigates the mantra OṂ and its deep significance through its consciousness aspect within the framework of the Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad. This course is a unique opportunity to combine study of the text with the systematic progression of practices to create a depth of feeling, understanding and experience.
